Portugal, 2024: I found myself unexpectedly on the beach. A gift from Paul, who had given me his coordinates in the mountains of southern Portugal so I could visit him and his family. After many cheerful nights of talking and dancing, he dropped me off on this stretch of coast a week later. Having enjoyed the colourful life, this was the perfect place for me to immerse myself in the tranquillity – a jewel whose value I only realised later. The land here was magical, where the streams of a river carved their way out of the mountains to finally touch the sea. The ground was a carpet of magical patterns and multi-layered structures that invited me to take a closer look. Over the week, it became my routine to work with these natural beauties. They told stories of eternity and change, of the constant movement of life. My camera became a tool to capture this silent poetry. The images I created are more than just photographs – they are witnesses to stillness, dialogues between earth and water, fixed moments in the ceaseless movement of existence. This series is a tribute to the unobserved works of art that nature constantly …

Lookbook KenPanda Classics

Kenan who designs and producs danceable fashion pieces. We fell in love with the idea to work together and produced a shooting with four wonderful humans in front of the camera: Anja, Hannah, Carlos & Paul. Their mission was to let go, to feel the moment and to dance. We had our very own party setting with music, hot soup and everything could just flow.

coffee with a view

We spent a few weeks with our family in Colombia, to be specific in the Cauca Valley close to Cali. Our neighbor invited me to visit his fields, when he learned I had an interest in the crops. We met at dawn to walk down his plantation full of avocados, banana trees, corn fields and of course coffee bushes. Impressed by the size of his crop and the fact that although he is 76 years old, he works it all by himself. But he would not like to be dependent on the coffee only. The plant is sensitive and especially last year he had lost half of the coffee cherries due to insects, as he found out after washing the red fruits and peeling of the skin.

Hiking in Norway

It was time to leave the concrete jungle of Berlin and go hiking again. I really missed the opportunity of a good mountain walk. Because where I grew up and live, there is a saying: “we see who is going to visit us 3 days before they arrive.” Everything is so flat, a mountain is called something with 50m of height difference. So having the opportunity to hike a bit is really a great joy. First of course it takes some good shoes. I have been hiking up mountains with sneakers, but afterwards I was ready for letting them go. Second thing is food. You never really know what’s gonna happen when you are up the mountain. And of course the third thing is a good camera gear. Well, when you want to make the most of it, you learn how to see the light and adjust your timetable to it. The best light for landscape photography is probably in the morning and in the evening, before sunset and even a bit after. But then you will already need a tripod to stabilize the camera. I love those panorama shots from the top of the mountain, and of course the …

My dear Berlin, a city of lights, of beautiful people and places to discover. This is my kind of ‘hommage’ to a city that never sleeps and where the magical moments seem to happen to those who wait for them. When I was putting these photos online I felt like I had relived this beautiful year twice. Once, when being out there and living it and the second one selecting these photographs from a collection of series from this year in Berlin. Many myths are ranked around Berlin as being the creative capital of bliss for tourists and artists. Personally I must admit, that I don´t see as much from the nightlife, because the nighttimes are the best for post production work. Yes Berlin is crazy and has a lot to offer, a lot of contradictions and many faces. Portraying this city will never be done in one year and maybe this project is only a beginning, one that takes it first step here and becomes vividly representing the beautifil city of Berlin and its people. Thank you so much for your sugarfree sweetness: BLNgold
