As a child, science fiction films were my window into other worlds – shimmering technologies, bold fashion, and big dreams. Today, in 2024, much of that has become reality. Yet what truly matters are still the encounters with people.

Liliana is one of those encounters. I had photographed her before as an aerial yoga teacher, but this time we wanted a portrait session that revealed more of her character. She designed and brought her own clothes – futuristic, playful, extravagant, and completely her.

We combined her vision with a minimalist lighting style – reduced, yet full of depth. Between laughter, memories, and new ideas, the images became a fusion of past and future. Nostalgia meeting avant-garde.

Photographing Liliana felt like a visual fairytale across time. For me, it was both a reunion with an old friend – and the discovery of a new heroine.
